As women look ahead to the New Year making plans, setting riding tour dates, the one day that is, without a doubt written into the ride date planner is Friday 1 May—International Female Ride Day.

It has become “the date” of women motorcycle riders as the day to ride their motorcycle, the day to JUST RIDE--celebrating, promoting women riders worldwide. The day accents the camaraderie women share no matter what country, origin, age or form of motorsport—the passion for the activity is the same as they demonstrate the wonderful diversities of women who enjoy motorcycling!

As the campaign denotes since its origin in 2007, the first Friday in May is reserved as Female Ride Day. This year it falls on 1 May and what a better way to start off the month! Warm, cold, hot, depending on the weather in some locations, women will get on their two wheelers (or Quads) and have fun while supporting the campaign that unifies women riders.

We’ve added a permanent International Female Ride Day section of MOTORESS.COM which is still being populated with the mounds of information from prior years! And the buzz has already started –women are writing in requesting tips and ideas of how to spend Female Ride Day.

As in prior years there will be a souvenir for the first number of women to send their photos in to MOTORESS. We had to reduce the quantities of free gifts this year as the campaign has grown to such an extent that unfortunately we haven’t the capacity or budget to handle the numbers. We imagine the first 100 photos will receive a gift, but will have a photo upload area so that we can accept and display limitless numbers of participants.

We will be making a souvenir t-shirt available for purchase again just as soon as the new 2009 image icon is completed –the t-shirt was a massive hit!
