VICKI GRAY – Motorsport Bio

Vicki Gray is a motorcycle racer, instructor, coach, and journalist whose been riding since 1983. From Ontario Canada, she got hooked when taking the rider training course in Nova Scotia motivated by the need of an outlet away from her demanding career at Revlon International.

She has taught motorcycle riding to thousands of beginners, trained police in the Caribbean (Netherlands Antilles), raced throughout Europe, co instructed with MotoGP racer Katja Poensgen, partnered events with famed TT Circuit Assen, and co-hosted a television program for the Discovery Channel.

During her racing career she was sponsored by World Championship team Ten Kate Honda and during other competitions by Ducati. She's owned 4-stroke, 2-stroke, twins, off road, custom bikes, scooters, and world championship race bikes--even raced mini pocket bikes.

Vicki left Canada in 1989 and moved to the Caribbean island of St. Maarten, where, recognised by the Canada Safety Council's rider training program (a former instructor), started her first school --the “Pro Rider Motorcycle School,” where she had her own fleet of duo-purpose motorcycles. She also headed up many rider safety campaigns and provided higher skills training for the Dutch Antillean police.

Shortly after relocating to Europe in 1994, Vicki founded RaceGirl Motorsport, a non-profit training and support community headquartered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands whose reach was worldwide and coincided with the start of her personal road racing activities. She built the renowned global brand RaceGirl and its website, which was the first of its kind depicting female motorcycle riders in a strong, sportive, ever feminine role. Her courses and workshops encourage women, enhance skills and continue to expand the female riding community.

Vicki returned to Canada in 2006 to headquarter and develop the new community and online magazine for women riders, MOTORESS, who also introduced the now globally participated campaign “International Female Ride Day”—a day where women just ride. Vicki takes her over 27 years of experience, applying it to an even broader mission -- MOTORESS connecting women with motorcycling!
